The first ‘Museums Free 4 All” is this Sunday!
Grand Rapids Art Museum, the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and the Grand Rapids Public Museum will join together to welcome the region’s residents for free general admission at each institution from noon to 5 pm.
I’m going to focus on family activities at the Grand Rapids Art Museum www.artmuseumgr.org this Sunday.
- I don’t know if my kids will sit through it, but from 2:00 to 3:00 there will be a classical concert.
- Stuart Davis is one of the permanent collections, and A.P. has done a similar “Stuart Davis inspired” project to this one using letters in his art class.
- There is a new-ish Robert Rauschenberg exhibit too, and I found a “Meaningful Collage” activity for kids that
doesn’t look too messy seems very enriching.
- I love this Jasper Johns art project using numbers!
Also part of Museums Free 4 All are the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum www.grcm.org,the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum www.fordlibrarymuseum.gov, and the Grand Rapids Public Museum www.grmuseum.org.
