People talk a lot about “the true meaning of Christmas” this time of year, but it’s so easy to get distracted by Black Friday deals and making the most awesome cookie for the exchange and travel plans and.. and.. and then POOF. It’s gone and we aren’t thinking about the true meaning of anything. We’re just busy.
It takes a tragedy to remind us to slow us down sometimes, and that’s what I got out of THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS. It is a heart-breaker, for sure; about a family faced with losing their child and their quest to give him one last Christmas celebration. It’s based on a true story, which gives it even more of an impact. Austin and Julie Locke are devastated, of course, when they find out their don Dax has leukemia. They are determined to give him one last Christmas – even if it has to be in October!
Their community found out what was going on, and surround them with love and support to make it a “real” Christmas. I think THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS would be a great Christmas film for families to put on their list of holiday movies. It’s about the real meaning of Christmas; but also about life, faith, and community.
I have one copy to give away, but this is a quick turnaround and I’ll be drawing the winner on Friday. Enter below – and good luck!
