Five Free Things To Do With Kids In Grand Rapids This Week

What is your favorite ArtPrize exhibit so far? We are loving Norm the Dragon! There are other things going on around town, so make sure you don’t miss all of the free fun to be had in Grand Rapids with kids this week!

Friday, September 28 through October 4 Chimpanzee is at the Flick’s Family Film Festival at Celebration Cinema.  Adults are $4.00 and kids are free! It’s one of the few G movies in this festival lineup.

Friday, September 28 from 6-9 pm.  Bring the whole family for an evening of fun activities at the Kroc Center. Family night offers games, arts & crafts, $1 concessions, a family-friendly movie and other special surprises, all for free! Activities start at 6 pm, movie starts at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, September 29 check out a museum for FREE! The Grand Rapids Art Museum is already free because of ArtPrize; so check out the Kalamazoo Nature Center or the Portage Air Zoo.

Saturday, September 29 get into National Parks for FREE!  Sleeping Bear National Dunes is on this list, it’s a bit of a drive but it is beautiful this time of year!

Sunday, September 30 from noon to 5:00 PM is the Kids’ ArtFest.  It’s a birthday party for the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, and it’s a fun day for kids! The event takes place  Veteran’s Park in front of the museum.

Sunday, September 30 at 2:00 see a preview of CARE Ballet’s performance of “Cinderella” at the East Grand Rapids Branch of the Kent District Library.  Then, have a princess tea party with the ballerinas! Kids can come dressed up in princess attire, and it’s for ages 6 and younger.

I realize there are two events on this list that aren’t in Grand Rapids.  That’s why there are six :)
