I am really excited about this program at Blandford Nature Center! The Anthropology Major in me will drag my kids to it, rain snow, sleet, or hail. It’s this Saturday, January 7 from 2:00 – 3:00 and it’s $5 for members and $6 for non-members.
Anishinaabe: Winter Life. Winter can be a difficult time, even with modern conveniences. Come to Blandford and discover how the Native Americans of this area survived in the winter and have some fun in the process.
Make sure you take your SmartPhone and have some fun on the trails with their sweet app, too!
The dorky Anthropologist isn’t done just yet, though. Sunday, January 8 at 2:00 PM at the East Grand Rapids Library for some free family fun.
Around The World in 80 Minutes. In just over an hour, we’ll explore games, crafts and activities enjoyed by people worldwide. Get ready to become a virtual globetrotter with fun, hands-on activities for the whole family!
If one of your New Year’s Resolutions is to save money, get the kids involved by taking them to this free workshop at Home Depot Saturday, January 7 from 9:00 am to noon where they can make a “Savings Shed”. Not a bank, not a wallet. A shed. I love it.
Of course, don’t forget that you can visit Meijer Gardens or the Grand Rapids Art Museum for FREE on Saturday and Sunday if you are a Bank Of America cardholder!
If you go to the GRAM, head outside for some ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle, too!
