The U.S. generates 34 million tons of waste each year, and 14 percent of that is from food scraps alone. Don’t be a statistic! You can get and share suggestions during a virtual cooking school class called Turning Leftovers into Left-‘Uppers.’ It’s part of the Cooking Connections series on TheMotherhood. With Thanksgiving just around the corner we’ll focus on methods for upgrading leftovers into another special meal, rather than simply re-heating them, making sandwiches or throwing them away.
Celebrity chef George Duran will join us via live video feed to demonstrate one of his Thanksgiving left-‘upper’ recipes and answer questions you might have. There will be a text chat beneath the video player so you can ask questions and share your own ideas. The class will be Tuesday, November 15, from 1:00 to 1:30 PM EST. Here’s the link to the page where the class will be held: Turning Leftovers into Left-’Uppers”. I’ll be there with nine other bloggers to co-host the class, and I hope you’ll join us! The people who will be co-hosting with me are:
Deb, Just Short of Crazy
Jayme, Tater Twins
Jennifer, Eighty MPH Mom
Johanna, Momma Cuisine
Kasey, All Things Mamma
Kristy, The Wicked Noodle
Mel, MamaBuzz
Migdalia, Latina on a Mission
Stephanie, Goober Monkey
Turning Leftovers into Left-’Uppers’ is sponsored by ReadySetEat.com and ConAgra Foods, and it is hosted by TheMotherhood. My participated is compensated, and all opinions are my own.
