Many may enter, only one may win…

2:00 pm Wild Words: Voice and Fluency in Creative Nonfiction.   Discover the rain forest inspiration and Midwest garden goofiness behind April Pulley Sayre’s 50+ books. Explore voice and its role in transforming simple nonfiction ideas into read aloud, playful prose. Get a behind-the-scenes video look at her 2010 book, He’s a Howler. Then find out why fish names are tongue-tangled and just plain funny.

3:00 pm Verbal Heaven.   A blissful array of poems to touch the mind, body and soul. Born Raynard Valentino Yentzer on February 14, 1984, Romeo Ray has done many poetry events, slams and contests, winning most of them. Bring your original poetry for this fast-paced slam that will leave you moved beyond measures.

Authors will be available after their events to sign books. Books will be available for purchase from Pooh’s Corner. Twenty percent of all book sales benefit the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation.

This is a “Fun Family Events” Calendar item.  Check it out for more great frugal community activities your family will love!
