Have you seen this campaign around town? MyGR6 was introduced at the Fourth of July Fireworks by Mayor George Heartwell.   It’s an amazing campaign sponsored by Amway and the Grand Rapids Press designed to encourage folks to create their own six word memoir.

I was there.  I was inspired.  I was excited.  Longtime Big Binder readers will recall that I love Mayor George Heartwell.  And I love Grand Rapids.  And I love words.

My ‘six’ came to me very quickly. Six words about what living here means to me.   Six words about living in a community rich with activities for families; so many that I have written Big Binder for four years and never, ever run out of things to talk about.  About living in a community that allows a family of simple means to educate, nourish, and entertain their children.  A community that values hard work, faith and family.  Passing those values on to our children.
