Much like Snowmaeddon this winter, my kids had to get creative during the Great Heat Wave of 2011. In search of some indoor fun, they decided to re-create the test track at LEGOLAND Discovery Chicago using a Carrera track and Lego cars.
Want some LEGO fun for yourself?
The good people at LEGOLAND Discovery Chicago would like to give one Big Binder reader a Ninjago starter kit. Actually, they wanted to do it about two weeks ago but I got busy, what with all the sweltering and turning up the air conditioning and whatnot.
Oops.
Sorry, LEGOLAND people. I hope you still love me.
So I read the story on Ninjago but it’s kind of long, so let me betacap it for you:
First master of Spinjitzu created Ninjago using four mystical weapons: the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, the Scythe of Quakes, and the Sword of Fire. He entrusted the world and the weapons ton his two sons Sensei Wu and Lord Garmadon who promised to protect them, but then Lord Garmadon got all greedy and power hungry. His brother kicked his butt and banished him to the underworld where he became the ruler. He wants to take another stab at getting the four weapons of power, but his bro {Sensei Wu} found four young ninjas that are prepared to learn the ways of spinjitzu. Only you and the ninjas can stop the rotten brother.
And by “you”; in all likelihood I mean your 6 to 11 year old son.
The Starter Kit includes:
· 2 minifigures
· 2 spinners
· 6 weapons
· 2 character cards
· 8 battle cards
· LEGO® bricks
Just enter using this form (no one can see the information but me, it just makes it easier to randomly pick the winner and contact them quickly). I’ll pick the winner Sunday, July 31 and contact them by mail. If I don’t get a response in 24 hours I’ll pick another winner.

We were headed there next week but our trip fell through. My son has just discovered his affinity for legos so looks like he’ll have a Lego birthday in a few weeks.

Oh, he is the perfect age for Legos!! I saw a Lego cake on Pinterest Hollie – I can’t remember if I re-pinned it but you are good at that stuff. You could TOTALLY make it.
