Michigan Mom: What Bloggers Are Talking About This Week

michigan Michigan Mom: What Bloggers Are Talking About This WeekI’ve decided it’s high time I take my role as Michigan Mom for MomTV more seriously. Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Midwest Moms Media Brands and Bloggers Summit in Chicago and could not hide my pride over hearing the comment, “ANOTHER blogger from West Michigan?!” We were everywhere.

If you Tweet, you will appreciate that the hashtag for the conference, #bbsummit11, was trending in West Michigan Saturday.

We do more than just Tweet, though.  There is a lot of awesome going on here, and it’s high time you knew about it.

Each week I am going to bring you a very small taste of some great blogging across the state. I know you’ll enjoy it!

West Michigan is talking about staying inside, being cool, and eating.

  • JodiMichelle has a fantastic, inexpensive idea nicely packaged in a beautifully photographed post about Fort Kits.
  • I can’t imagine being pregnant in this heat like  Jen from Creating Chaos, and she wrote a nice post this week about making infused water.  Refreshing…. hydrating…. aaah.
  • Or you could just go out to eat, like Kelly the Kitchen Kop did.  Read her review of Amore Trattoria Italian Restaurante in Grand Rapids.
  • One way to keep your kitchen cool is by eating leftovers.  Andrea from Simple Organized Living gives us some of her favorites.

Elsewhere in Michigan:

Are you a Michigan blogger? Big or small; leave me a comment. I want to get to know you!

Yup. This is me, trying to bring back the olden days of blogging. You know; where we actually read each other’s blogs. I’m amazed at what talent is out there!

Awesome! I remember a couple years ago wondering where all the other Michigan bloggers were. Now it seems like I learn about another one I didn’t know about every week. We really do have a great blogging community here!

Wow! Thanks for the mention! I love meeting other Michigan bloggers as well. I couldn’t make it to bbsummit this year due to being big and preggo. I was bummed.

  1. [...] posts to share. Another idea is to start up a recap like what Jen has on her blog today – sharing the best from the area – or like what Jill from Diaper Diaries does on a weekly basis to recap what she’s reading. [...]
