Purex Giveaway

Last year, I made a bold declaration.  I announced that I was giving up bleach.  Almost immediately, my friend Jill at The Diaper Diaries emailed me with only the words, “I’ll believe it when I see it”.

She never saw it.

I can’t quit you, bleach.  I tried.  I took out a second mortgage on my house and invested all-natural, locally sourced organic environmentally friendly laundry products.  I continued line-drying my clothes. But two things brought me to my knees.

The first was bugs. There was a lice epidemic at my kids’ school.  None of us got it, but I had phantom lice itch on my scalp for a month.  In fact, as I am writing this post, I am scratching. And, even though we stay in hotels about three times a year and bedbugs have not made their way to Michigan yet, I heard on the radio that using bleach and drying clothes on hot can kill both of those nasty beasts.

My clothes came down off the line, were washed in copious amounts of bleach, and went promptly into the dryer.

Second, the laundry products did not make my clothes smell good.  It didn’t make them smell bad, either.  There was no smell.  As a laundry aficionado, I realized that part of the pleasure I got from doing it was olfactory.  Laundry aromatherapy, if you will.

My sister accidentally left a bottle of  fabric softener at my house, so I decided to use it.  I had no idea what to do with it.  Put  it in with the soap? Pour it in the bleach hole? What the heck??

I got one of those little balls and even though I made a mess pouring it in every time; I used it.  As it turns out, bleach was just a gateway drug. I was now addicted to fabric softener.

Then I met Purex Crystals.  The best way I can describe it is this:  I had been wearing super cute, super slightly uncomfortable shoes.  Then I found some super cute, super comfortable shoes, and now I can’t go back.

Purex Crystals are actually little crystals, that you just dump right in with the soap.  The smell is wonderful. Like, “my husband noticed it” wonderful. And? It’s 92% natural.  I don’t know what the other 8% is and frankly, I don’t care.  92% is an “A”.

Would you like to try it?  You can follow Purex on Twitter.  Or, go and “like” Purex on Facebook and get a coupon.

Also… I have three free bottles of Purex Crystals to give away.

Just hop over to the Purex site and check out the different scents, then tell me which one you will chose if you win.  Good luck!

This contest is now closed.
