Frugal Fun This Week

Well, hi there! Are you having a good week? Some people love snow days, and some people hate them.  Hopefully we are done for a while; or at least until Monday when the next storm is supposed to hit.

Fortunately, there is so much FREE this week you won’t lack for fun, even if there is no school.  Laugh in the face of $5.00 a gallon gas, my friends.  Frugal is how we roll!

Speaking of frugal; a few weeks ago we went to the Heritage Festival at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.  We had a good time! Please enjoy this short video while you bask in the glow of the FREE:


February 25 6:30 PM Evening Story time with Cookie Mouse, Barnes and Noble, Rivertown. FREE.


February 26 Outhouse 500.  Parade is FREE; lots of side events.  Coopersville.

February 26 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Target and Read Across America have a FREE Dr. Seuss Story Time at all Target Stores.

February 26 10:00 AM Lowes Build and Grow Race car.  For FREE.

February 26 11:00 AM Egypt program at Byron Center Branch of the Kent District Library.  FREE.

February 26 4:30 PM Jewels of Africa at the Yankee Clipper branch of the Grand Rapids Public Library.  FREE performance.


February 27 3:00 PM Family Concert at First United Methodist Church.  Bill Vits (from the Grand Rapids Symphony), percussionist and the Percussion Discussion introduce all sorts of percussion instruments.  FREE will offering.


February 28 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM East Grand Rapids branch of the Kent District Library.  FREE dance party for kids 6 and under.

February 28 6:30 PM Egypt Program Rockford Branch of the Kent District Library.  FREE.


March 1 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM Free Pancake Day at IHOP.  Yup – a FREE short stack!
