My Money Monday

I’m not sure what to call my new Monday posts. What I am sure of is that I need to start being more careful with money! I am not going back full time to my seasonal job this year, so that means sharpening those scissors and clipping coupons.

Back when I worked in sales, I figured out that my product – or any product – could only do one of two things for a company. Either make them more money (increase income), or save them money (decrease expenses). I am going to apply those same principles to my own budget – and because I love you guys, I’m going to share my journey with you. I’ll bring you coupon savings from a great frugal blog (decrease expenses), and also an idea I am trying, or have tried, to make money (increase income).

First the income. If you have a child under three, it’s worth it to sign up for Innovative Consumer Research. A friend of mine told me about this when A.P. was about a year old, and the child could eat. It’s a baby and toddler food testing company for a very well known baby food company. Once you sign up, you get an ID number for your child, and they let you know when there is a food test for their age group. It’s super easy, and they pay you in grocery store gift cards. In short, it’s totally sweet. I was sad when my children got too old and it had to end. Call 1-800-991-3388 to get started.

I used to do a great job with the coupon match up thing, but no more.  I looked at the Meijer ad and I looked at the ad and got excited about Breyers Ice Cream at 4 for $10, and Parmigiano Reggiano for $9.99 a pound.

That’s about it.

Here is what Sarah’s Deals found. She takes the time to match up sales with coupons – so we don’t have to.  Here is what she found – click on the store name to see the full matchup.

Thanks for sharing this, Jenn! Are you stuck on alliteration for your title, by the way? Can’t come up with an “m” one – but how about Frugal Mondays?
